This collection of posters, created between 2013 and 2015, showcases the innovative work of Manuel Guerrero Salinas. Influenced by optical artists such as Victor Vasarely, Bridget Riley, Omar Rayo, Carlos Cruz Diez, as well as designers like Muller-Brockmann, Wolfgang Weingart, Niklaus Troxler, Isidro Ferrer, and Felix Beltran, these typographic posters push the boundaries of design.
The posters in this series were commissioned for various purposes, including celebrating the 40th anniversary of Felix Beltran, commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Gestalt Institute, protesting the disappearance of 43 students in Mexico, promoting the design conference Passion and Design V, and representing Julian Carillo's Thirteen Sound.
What sets these typographic posters apart is the experimental use of typography through the use of lines and isometric perspective. This creates a visual game where characters and typographic signs appear and disappear, offering a unique perceptual experience for the viewer.
Using Adobe Illustrator and a grid of lines, the poster images were meticulously crafted without 3D support. The final prints were produced using the silkscreen technique on free-acid paper. The original format of the posters is 600 mm x 900 mm.
As with Op Art, these typographic posters engage with the viewer's perception. The use of patterns and lines creates visual effects, while the lines themselves create afterimages of certain colors due to how the retina receives and processes light.
The typographic posters project was realized in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, starting in 2013 and concluding in 2015. Manuel Guerrero Salinas, the designer behind this collection, collaborated with the printer Taller 75º to bring these unique designs to life.
Manuel Guerrero Salinas's typographic posters have garnered recognition and acclaim. In 2016, this design was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration, and Visual Communication Design category. This prestigious award is given to designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise, innovation, technical characteristics, and artistic skill.
Experience the unique perceptual journey offered by Manuel Guerrero Salinas's typographic posters, where typography becomes art.
